Talking and Gossiping

to yak = (informal, often disapproving) to talk continuously about things that are not very serious or important

People often ask me about my creations, but yaking about images is stupid and boring.

to dish the dirt on somebody = (informal) to tell people unkind or unpleasant things about somebody, especially about their private life

They don’t want to be seen to be dishing the dirt on them or on any other family members.

to listen to the word of mouth = to listen to rumours/to what people say

I wish I would have listened to the “word of mouth” about the poor credentials and awful customer service of this company.
